    The Importance of Water Self-Sufficiency

    Singapore has achieved considerable success in its quest to be self sufficient in water. This, according to Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew who was speaking at the inaugural Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize ceremony this week. Why should countries strive to be self sufficient in water? And how has technology helped Singapore in this quest? Melanie Yip finds out.

    Fishermens' Fears

    The Wakatobi District Government in Indonesia has decided to zone the National Park to prevent the further reduction of areas for spawning fish. This has created areas that can be used for fishing and those which cannot. Fishermen from the Bajo ethnic group fear the decision will affect their livelihood. Melanie Yip elaborates.
